For individuals who cannot afford Jikoji's basic rate of $35/day, a work study program may be available at the lesser rate of $20/day plus 2 hours per day of cleaning or maintenance, to help maintain Jikoji. This arrangement gives the individual non-exclusive use of the community kitchen, community living room, dormitory, bathroom, zendo, and grounds. Food, housekeeping and bedding are not included, although blankets and sleeping pads are available.
Guests are expected to participate in Jikoji's daily meditation practice and to provide their own food and clean up after themselves.
A five day limit is assumed, but extensions may be requested.
