Calligraphy Weekend with Gerow Reece

On the weekend of June 31st to July 1st (Friday through Sunday), come deepen your weekend practicing calligraphy with a brush. Delve into both East Asian and Western calligraphy--developing sensitivity to line and space, and awareness in both eye and hand.  Gerow Reece is known not only as a long-time Zen practitioner and beloved member of Jikoji's community, but as a calligrapher and Japanese ceremonial tea server.  He can often be seen on the grounds with a wide-brimmed hat as he works patiently to shape and care for Jikoji's gardens; always a warm greeting at the ready. We are excited to host Gerow as he offers us careful instruction of joining Zen and the arts, with his customary blend of gentleness, aesthetic curiosity, and good-natured humor.  Read more here...
