Sundays at Jikoji

* At Jikoji & on Zoom *

Our Sunday Program is a weekly "open house" and a great way to get to know Jikoji and become familiar with Zen practice. Each week, community members and newcomers join us from the Bay Area for sitting meditation, dharma talk, social lunch, and a sense of community (sangha). Please come, and invite your family and friends to join us! Most guests participate in the Practice Schedule and stay for lunch, our community building is open during this time, and there are opportunities for hiking the many Open Space trails in the area. We look forward to sharing the Dharma with you.

MEDITATION INSTRUCTION is available for new practitioners at 9.30 a.m.
Late arrivals may be prohibited from entry once the introductory session has begun.

Registration ensures we have the capacity and accommodations available for your visit. The requested donation to support this event (including staffing, facilities, guidance, meditation, a dharma talk, social lunch and access to our facility and open space trails) is $20 per person. Jikoji offers access to Zen practice freely to all and will welcome you regardless of your financial circumstances. Contact us to coordinate your visit.

(Note: Jikoji occasionally hosts private retreats or rents facilities to other groups, so some facilities may be closed to the public. On these occasions, the regular Sunday program will usually be held in the Small Zendo, with lunch at our outdoor dining area or in the Resident’s kitchen.)
