Sundays at Jikoji

Our Sunday Program is a weekly "open house" and great way to get to know Jikoji and become familiar with Zen practice. Each week, community members and newcomers alike join us from the Bay Area for the sitting meditation, dharma talk, social lunch, and sense of community (sangha). Please come, and invite your family and friends to join us! Most guests participate in the Practice Schedule and stay for lunch, but our community building is also open during this time and there are opportunities for hiking the many Open Space trails in the area.

Beginners are welcome to join an introductory session at 10 am in the Small Zendo, before joining the regular program in the Big Zendo for 10:50 zazen.  (Note: Jikoji sometimes hosts private retreats or rents facilities to other groups, so some facilities may be closed to the public. On these occasions the regular Sunday program will usually be held in the Small Zendo, with lunch at our outdoor dining area or in the Residents kitchen.)  A white board outside the entrance to the community building lists each Sunday's schedule and locations.
